Apparently, FOMO works on resellers too.
One of my favorite parts of Rosie’s Scores is finding the good stuff before it disappears. And lately, that has become a sport.
More than once, I’ve spotted a great new beauty drop from one of my suppliers, stopped to think about it for approximately 11 seconds too long and…
SOLD OUT.
So when I saw Summer Fridays pop up as a new arrival?
I moved.
Quickly.
Perhaps…too quickly. 😂
The product was listed with an estimated MSRP that made it look like a fantastic score. Recognizable brand. Great product. Great price.
ADD. TO. CART.
What I did not do was stop long enough to investigate exactly which size that retail price belonged to.
Spoiler:
Not mine.
The cleanser I bought is 50 mL. The $35 retail price I had mentally attached to my brilliant little purchase? That belongs to the much larger 150 mL size.
And because wholesale purchasing isn’t exactly a “I’ll just grab one and see” situation, by the time I realized my mistake, I had already purchased what we’ll call a confident quantity.
How confident?
Mind your business. 😬😂
Could I list them using the estimated MSRP I originally saw and pretend I never noticed?
Sure.
Am I going to?
Nope.
Because a score is only a score if it’s actually a score.
After doing the math correctly this time — a novel concept — I’ll make significantly less than my normal margin on these.
That’s okay.
My mistake shouldn’t become your markup.
So yes, you’ll find these adorable little Summer Fridays cleansers in the shop.
And you’ll probably be seeing them for…
a while. 😂
Lesson learned: Move fast. Trust your gut. But perhaps take an extra 30 seconds to read the ounces.
Sometimes Rosie finds the score.
And sometimes Rosie IS the score. 💜
